It's unanimous: IREA joins IHEA to form new division
In a unanimous decision, members of the Infrared Equipment Association [IREA] voted to join the Industrial Heating Equipment Association [IHEA] during IREA's annual meeting last fall in Las Vegas. The move not only increases IHEA membership, but also revitalizes IREA, an organization that has experienced growing pains since its start in 1993.
IREA, whose goal is to promote infrared [IR] technology, broke away from the Electric Power Research Institute's [EPRI] Center for Materials Fabrication [CMF] about 3 years ago. Strictly an organization of electric IR suppliers and utilities then, IREA opened the group to all IR technologies, that is, gas, gas catalytic, and electric when it broke from CMF.
