The evolution of powder spray booth materials

Spray booth canopies are constructed from a variety of materials in the powder coating industry. Although the key function of the canopy is to contain the powder coatings as they are applied to parts, the canopy has become crucial in enhancing quick color changes during production. The material it is made of can either slow down or speed up the process. This article lists the key components of an ideal booth material and then discusses the development of a composite material that is not only lightweight, but also strong and easy to clean.

Imagine you're the engineer asked to design a new powder spray booth. It's to be a large powder booth used for quick color changes in production. You need to pick a material to build your booth canopy out of--but how do you choose the best materials?
