Alkyd coating skids to a halt when powder comes on board

Strong demand for skid-steer loaders convinces their manufacturer to dump its overworked alkyd paint in favor of powder. The switch helps increase production and improve quality.

New Holland North America, New Holland, Pa., operates five North American plants that make a variety of farm and construction machinery, including tractors, combines, and skid-steer loaders. The skid-steer loaders are built at the company's Belleville, Pa., plant. For may years, they were coated with an alkyd primer and topcoat.
