Evaluating and comparing gas-fired and electric infrared heaters

The purpose of this article is to review the benefits of infrared heating and to present technical information comparing gas-fired and electric infrared [IR] heaters. The article looks at technical information presented from a scientific study conducted by Laboratoire des Technologies d'Hydro-Quebec [LTEE].

This report, generated in May 1996, was the first objective study comparing gas and electric IR heaters on the same test rig with identical testing apparatus, and involving gas and electric utilities.
