Coating show attendance still rebounding from 9-11
Coating 2003 drew more attendees than Powder Coating 2002 and Coating 2001, but the multiple-coating-technology show has yet to return to pre-9-11 attendance levels. Could 2004 be the rebound year? Yes - if the US economy continues to recover. New job growth is key.
The Midwest drew crowds of finishing professionals as Coating 2003 made its Indianapolis debut Oct. 28-30. According to Goyer Management's Anne Goyer, conference and show manager, the show drew more new attendees to the show than either Powder Coating 2002 or Coating 2001. "More than 68 percent of our preregistered attendees [not including exhibit personnel] had not attended either of our past shows in recent years," she said. "One of the goals we were trying to accomplish with Coating was to attract a diverse crowd using a wide variety of coating technologies. Looking at our final attendee list, we accomplished that goal."
