Powder coating brings good news to LA Times rack operation

The Los Angeles Times has 28,500 news racks scattered throughout Southern California, all of them built and coated at the company's Newsrack Maintenance Center in Santa Fe Springs, Calif.

Gerry Marnien, the center manager, said the Times is the only US metropolitan newspaper that makes its own news racks.
