Partial-cure IR oven clean sweeps production pile up

A street sweeper maker needs to apply a two-coat system on a one-coat line. An infrared [IR] system between powder booths buffs out the production bottleneck without adding an inch to the existing line.

With each new advance in powder coatings and its expanded use, new curing processes typically follow. Currently, many multicoat finishers realize the economic and environmental advantages of using powder coatings as a primer, basecoat, clearcoat, or all of these in combination with liquid coatings. The basic question then arises: How much of a cure is needed between coating applications? The answer is only reached through testing, preferably, the entire process.
