Adding e-coat to powder attracts new business and increases sales
To grow while faced with a changing customer base and challenging economy, a finishing shop adds e-coating capabilities. The result? Exponential growth for its powder business.
Freedom Finishing, Benton Harbor, Mich., sprays 135,000 pounds of powder coatings a year. The family owned job shop started in 1988 powder coating zinc and aluminum die castings. Over the first 5 years, the shop amassed a large customer base with an ample appetite for its coating services on an array of parts including office furniture, automotive stampings, aluminum extrusions, and miscellaneous stampings. Business boomed. But then things began to change and challenge the shop.
