The Iowa Waste Reduction Center [IWRC] is a small-business technical assistance program of the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, Iowa. In 1997, the IWRC received EPA funding to establish the Pollution Prevention for Painting and Coating Compliance Enhancement [PPACE] program.
The intent of the program is to improve efficiency and environmental compliance in the painting and coating industry through education, demonstration projects, and research. As part of the program, representatives from small businesses and state technical assistance programs are invited to the IWRC's Process Training Facility for hands-on and classroom training in a variety of painting and coating processes.
