Railingmaker forges new identity with powder coatings
Outsourcing powder coating kinks and binds efficiencies for a railing manufacturer. An in-house system irons out the problem.
Craftsmen Railing of Keyport, N. J., defines itself through strong tradition and continued innovation. Ray Cottone, company president since 1985, represents the third generation of a family business that his grandfather started in 1927 and his father took over in 1958. Cottone started working in the shop when he was 13. " saw my father create things with the iron," he said. "It was always interesting. It's a great job. I love doing it. It's artistic. It's therapeutic."
