Toolmaker ditches ailing paint system for automatic powder coating
A maker of woodworking machinery opts for powder coatings and sees multiple rewards, not only in coating quality and productivity, but also in surface preparation and wastewater discharge.
Delta International Machinery, a Pentair company, makes 30 kinds of woodworking machines, including home and industrial saws, shapers, and lathes. The 75-year-old company turned its first success - a hand-operated scroll saw that it built in a one-car garage - into a 325-employee operation that makes its tools in a 330,000-square-foot plant in Tupelo, Miss.
