Silver streaks to top of vehicle color survey list

Gold is usually the color associated with taking first place in a contest. But in the case of a vehicle color popularity survey, silver is the first color crossing the finish line - the automobile finish line, that is.

According to DuPont Aiutomative Global Color Popularity survey for 2000, silver was the most popular color for cars and trucks in North America, edging out white 17.6 percent to 17.2 percent. In Europe and Asia, gray - a color category that includes silver metalic - took top spots.
