Powder sieve systems: Advantages and operation

When used on powder coating lines, sieve systems improve product quality by cleaning and conditioning the powder, optimally preparing it for spraying.

Though generally recommended by all powder equipment and system suppliers, sieve systems are not universally needed. On some lines, they represent overkill and wasted money: No finisher or customer will notice a dust particle imbedded in a black powder coating on a rough casting. On others, sieve systems are essential: Both finisher and customer will reject this same particle if it appears on a white Class A-finish surface. Thus, the product being sprayed and the standards for finish quality determine if a sieve system is required.
