PCI meets to rally, inform, and refocus members
Shaking the king palm trees with
hopes of ripe coconuts and
better business, PCI convened
gulf side at the Marriott Marco
Island to bask in balmy weather
and soak up industry optimism
under continued warming
economic indicators.
Returning for a third time to a
favorite haunt, Powder Coating
Institute (PCI) members
migrated south to semitropical
Marco Island, Fla., shaking off the
rain-soaked weather in the north for
the sunny island due south of
Naples. The Marco Island Marriott
Resort, Golf Club, and Spa served
as the site of the 23rd Annual Meeting,
May 17-19. After weathering
another slow growth year, PCI
hopes that current growth indicators
that have even reached the beleaguered
manufacturing sector signal
a turnaround in store for the powder
coating industry. But is the doubledigit
growth experienced in the
nineties a thing of the past or something
once again attainable? The
membership remains in wait-andsee
mode while the board urges continued
commitment to PCI.
