Powder coating systems: Convection batch ovens
This is the second article in a two-part series focused on when to use compact finishing equipment to increase efficiency to compete and increase profits. Part I, which was published in the October issue, focused on modular conveyorized powder coating systems and gave examples of companies that benefited from installing modular systems. This article focuses on the use of batch ovens for curing.
Convection batch ovens are designed to maximize your company's efficiency. Whether you're a job shop or a high-volume producer, you may have just the application for a batch oven. A small job shop can economically coat its own products, rather than outsource, with a small batch oven and a powder booth. A high-volume operation, on the other hand, can increase the efficiency of its high-volume line by moving oddshaped, low-volume products to a batch operation. Small economical batch ovens operating between 150°F and 700°F are used in numerous processes.
