Jack Boyko, owner of Boyko Metal Industries, a Newark, N.J., custom paint shop, hadn't planned on expanding his business. But a couple of years ago, his son, John, asked about joining the shop. Then 26 years old, John Boyko wanted to start his career in the family business, open since 1959.
