Extreme Powder Coating opened its doors more than 9 years ago in the small community of Blooming Prairie in southern Minnesota. Greg Peterson, president and owner, saw an opportunity to powder coat race car chassis for dirt track racing, a popular sport in the Upper Midwest. Business grew to include hot rods and custom car parts at the shop’s 12,500 square-foot plant. Equipped with a 19-ft by 34-ft cure oven, the company built a reputation for handling large parts. A more recent job involved powder coating a variety of components, shown here, for Target Field, the new home of the Minnesota Twins Baseball Team.
