Last year we surveyed readers to find out what topics they most wanted information about. The clear winner was "likely developments in powder coatings." An astounding 82 percent of respondents expressed a strong interest in the subject; another 12 percent were somewhat interested. As a result, we interviewed powder coatings manufacturers to learn what directions they think powder coatings will take in the next few years. This article summarizes their views.

The powder coatings manufacturers who spoke with us are Ray Kinzig, product manager, Ameron Powder Coating, Little Rock, Ark.; Philip Pierce, sales and service manager, Cardinal Industrial Finishes Powder Coatings, City of Industry, Calif.; Rick Cuddeback, product manager, Rilsan Powder Coatings, Elf Atochem, Philadelphia, Pa.; Roger Buchanan, business development manager, EVTECH, Charlotte, N.C.; Ed Duda, business manager, Powder Coatings Division, Ferro Corp., Cleveland, Ohio.; Bruce Van Huis, general manager, sales and marketing, H.B.
