Batter up: Batmaker scores with two-tone powder finish
A baseball batmaker manually applies a two-tone powder coating but falls short with finishing errors. To tally a win, it drafts automatic equipment that scores a consistent finish and a production boost.
Custom Bat Works [CBW], Springboro, Ohio, makes baseball and softball bats unlike any of its competitors. Instead of using drawn aluminum tubing and shaping the bat by using swaging processes and tools, the company uses a process it developed that makes the entire bat shape from a solid slug of reverse-extruded tubing.
