Powder coating-past, present, and future: A review of the state of the art

The first half of this article traces and analyzes the development of powder coating technology-processes, equipment, and materials.

This analysis indicates that with the exception of the development of the electrostatic spraying process, advances in powder coating technology have been evolutionary rather than revolutionary. The second half of the article examines the present state of the technology and makes predictions about likely technological and market developments for the 1990's.
