Aspects of titanium dioxide performance in powder coatings

This article explores the effects of titanium dioxide [TiO2] pigments on powder coatings performance. It discusses two powder coatings systems-an epoxy-polyester and a TGIC based polyester - and evaluates the performance of these systems in a range of popular TiO2 pigments with different surface treatments.

The article illustrates that pigments showing equivalent performance properties in one system may show differences in another system, and therefore, TiO2 performance is system specific.
