Fluoropolymer powders closely examined

My company is installing a new finishing line that will apply thermoset powder coatings to our product. Can you tell me what the differences are between each type of thermoset powder?

Among thermosetting powder coatings, perhaps the most popular and utilized types of materials include epoxies, acrylics, polyesters, urethanes, and fluoropolymers. Epoxy powders are typically hard and exhibit outstanding substrate protection. Their primary limitation is a relatively weak exterior durability. In contrast, acrylic powders create smooth clear coats with excellent chip resistance and exterior durability. Combined with polyurethanes, acrylics represent one of the unique powder coatings chemistries with many diversified applications. Polyesters are perhaps the most utilized and represent a broad spectrum of properties and applications, with varieties of chemistries often facilitating hybrid combinations. Top of the line in terms of exterior durability are flouropolymers, which offer superb photolytic stability and water resistance.
